“Mondays Finish the Story. This is a flash fiction challenge where we provide you with a new photo each week, and the first sentence of a story. Your challenge is to finish the story using 100-150 words, not including the sentence provided.”

I went a little over at 179 words.

“Zeus was not having a good day and he made sure everyone knew it.”

Lightning flashed. It lit up the insides of the house in strange bursts of contorted shadows. Thunder rolled. It shook the windows in their frames. The wind blew. It tried to rip the tiles off the roof. And, it caused a moaning whistle to crawl under little Julia’s door.

All you could see of Julia was the pile of blankets shuddering like jello. She was afraid. Dad had joked with mommy about Zeus’ bad day, and they’d all laughed during supper, but baby George had been taken to bed with them.

That’s where Julia wished she was; safe in her parents’ bed. But she was six! She’d told them she was going to be brave and stay in her very own bed during the storm. But now it was very dark, and the lightning made even her teddy bear look scary.
“Julia?”

She squeaked in terror, then, seeing her dad at her door cried “Daddy!”

He gently scooped her up, blankets and all, and he took her back to his bed. “I guess Zeus is angrier than I thought.”
